BRAD BERKLEY • VOCAL DIRECTOR

Brad Berkley just finished his 21st year as choral director at Matoaca HS in Chesterfield, VA and his 23rd year overall as a choral director in Chesterfield County! Under his direction the choirs at Matoaca have achieved numerous accolades and awards, for this Mr Berkley is very grateful and proud of the students he gets to make music with. The choral department at Matoaca is revered as one of the top in the area. Mr Berkley loves to create inspiring music and watch kids having tons of fun on stage. As a choral arranger and lover of creating things, Mr Berkley enjoys the process of making show choir come to life. Helping students reach heights they could not ever imagine is one of the main objectives for Mr B. Mr Berkley loves spending time with his amazing wife Stacey, helping his children succeed in life, seeing beautiful sites on walks and hikes, watching sports, and of course ALL THINGS MUSIC! Mr Berkley is incredibly thankful to be on staff at Dominion this year and cannot wait to see the students in action.


AUSTIN ROSENBERG • CHOREOGRAPHER

Austin Rosenberg is a freelance Choreographer, Show Designer and Clinician based out of Richmond, VA. As a proud alumni of Manchester High Schools Capital Swing, he is able to relate and share his experiences and understanding of the "World of Show Choir" with students. Austin is also a proud alumni of Old Dominion University with degrees in Mass Communication, Professional Communication and Marketing.

Throughout his choreography career with over 12 years of experience, Austin's groups consistently place, capture best choreography, best show design and other top honor awards in their divisions. Along his journey, he has had the honor to work alongside and learn from other great choreographers such as Andy Haines, Dean Pearson & Jason Peace. Austin knows a wide variety of dance styles which include Swing, Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, Tap, Latin and other styles that he has learned over the years. He also continues to learn new styles and techniques to refine his knowledge in dance.

Austin believes that there is something special about music and the arts that bring people together, creates expression, and builds confidence. With his energy, love for what he does, and passion to inspire, create and educate through the art of dance, he teaches groups/students to reach their full potential and achieve new heights. Austin is excited to be teaching at DSCC this summer and is looking forward to a great week!


SIERRA BUTLER • CLINICIAN

Sierra is native to Midlothian, Va and has always had a passion for dance. Dancing since she was 2, she has grown up through Spotlight Studio of Dance and has made a full circle to become a teacher there in 2013. She was accepted into Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology as a dance major in high school and was involved in Dragonfire, the school’s dance team, for three years. 

Sierra trained at Virginia Commonwealth University under teachers such as Scott Putman, Judith Steel, and Autumn Proctor Waddell. Additional training with Spotlight Studio of Dance occurred via traveling with their company and apprentice-team to many different dance conventions including, but not limited to, The Pulse On Tour, Dance Educators of America, Dance Makers Inc., and National High School Dance Festival. At these conventions, she trained with Brian Friedman, Tricia Miranda, Chris Judd, Dave Scott, Ian Eastwood, Gil Duldulao, Desmond Richardson, Alex Wong, Travis Wall, Laurieann Gibson, Brooke Lipton, and Tessandra Chavez to name a few. 

Sierra teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Modern, Pointe, and Tumbling at Spotlight Studio of Dance. She now applies her training to teach the next generation in the dance world and shares her passion of dance with her students. 

RYAN SHAPIRO • CHOREOGRAPHER • CLINICIAN

Ryan Shapiro is an alumnus of Manchester High School (Chesterfield, Va). Ryan has served show choir and performing arts departments and local theatres in the region for the past 15 years as a Choreographer, Technical Director, Event Organizer, Stage and Travel Manager, Project Manager, and Show Designer including costuming, props and set. Ryan regularly serves as Master of Ceremonies for events throughout the region and as a Stage Manager for Heart of America Entertainment, assisting in producing world class show choir events across the country. Ryan is passionate about the performing arts and dedicated to showcasing it’s vital role in the human experience.Ryan is currently at Bailey Bridge Middle School and loves sharing the Art of Language with his 6th grade students!

JULI GARRETT • CLINICIAN

Juli Garrett has studied all forms of dance for over 35 years. She has traveled the United States and Canada training and performing with dance. Juli has a BFA degree in Dance from George Mason University. While in college, she performed with the GMU Dance Company, Masonettes, and DC dance companies. She is the Coach/Choreographer for Rapid Motion at James River High School. She currently teaches in the RVA area for a variety of dance studios. Juli is very excited to be back again for another summer of DSCC!


EMMA ROBINSON • CLINICIAN

Emma Robinson is currently working as Production Assistant at the School For The Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC). She graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2021 with a BA in Music-Theater and a minor in Dance. She has had much experience, since the age of 8, as a performer in multiple productions in the Richmond Community and through her schooling years. Some of her favorite roles and experiences have Included playing Ms. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Nancy in Oliver!, The Drowsy Chaperone, and being in different productions with both Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion. She is very excited to be working with Clover Hill's Show Choir Camp!


JUAN PINEDA • VOICE LESSONS

Juan Pineda (Voice, Acting, Piano) is a Broadway veteran, international artist, and proud member of Actor’s Equity Association. Mr. Pineda has performed in Avery Fischer Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Public Theater, and at The Broadway Theater, where he starred as “Thuy” in the Broadway production of Miss Saigon. He has also performed roles in productions of The King & I, L’Elisir d’amore, Cavelleria Rusticana, Babes in Toyland and Turandot in the US and abroad. Mr. Pineda has been recognized and performed at Lincoln Center’s Concert of Excellence, honoring leading Asian Artists. Mr. Pineda is co-founder of the Pineda Conservatory and has directed, recorded, and taught voice, acting, and musical theatre throughout New York and New Jersey.

TERRELL DEAN • CHOREOGRAPHER • CLINICIAN

Mr. Terrell Dean or “Dean” how he is commonly known is a native of Hampton Roads and attended Radford University where he studied voice under Dr. Susan Kennedy. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance and English. Mr. Dean also attended Old Dominion University and studied voice under the amazing Dr. Brian Nedvin. Mr. Dean holds a colligate teaching license and should soon graduate Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education from ODU. A proud brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Mr. Dean has been Co-directing, choreographing and show designing for show choirs since 2007. His groups have consistently won awards for Best Show Design, Best Visuals, Best Costumes and Best Vocal Sound.

With his love for the performing arts Mr. Dean has traveled around the world as a singer and dancer for: Spirit Cruises, Busch Gardens, Paramount's Kings Dominion, Roanoke Symphony, Nickelodeon, Stiletto Entertainment, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival Cruise Lines, Moon Maxx Production and Troika Entertainment doing National Broadway tours. In 2014-15, he was the Entertainer Supervisor over live shows at Kings Dominion and has since returned as the park's choreographer and vocal coach. Currently Mr. Dean teaches 8th grade choir at Powhatan Middle School and is the Director of Choral Activities at Powhatan High School since 2018. He teaches Music Appreciation, two award winning concert choirs and two award winning show choirs. Since being at Powhatan High School his choirs have received awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design, and Best Costumes. Powhatan County has the distinct honor as being one of Virginia’s top ranked music programs and both the middle and high school are Blue Ribbon schools. Bringing structure, fun, energy, and enthusiasm to the classroom, Mr. Dean teaches life lessons through music and hopes to inspire students to continue their education in music to spread the excellence of music in America and beyond.


CAROLINE GRYDER • ELEMENTARY VOCAL DIRECTOR

Caroline Gryder is a recent alum of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's in Music Education. Starting in July she will be the Music Teacher at Bellwood Elementary School. Teaching kids about how to express themselves through music, and explore their passions has always brought her joy. She did show choir all throughout high school at Thomas Dale. She has worked as a private lessons instructor, teaching voice and piano to students from the ages of 4-40. She is so excited to have a week full of fun, laughter, and music-making!

AMIR KHOZAEI • TECHNICAL DIRECTOR • CLINICIAN

Amir Khozaei wears many creative and technical hats in the Central Virginia Show Choir community, commonly in Midlothian, VA. He is proud to be the Technical Director for LUXE at Randolph Macon College and a Technical Designer for many central VA show choirs. Throughout his years within the community, he has helped bring many shows to life using technical and creative technics to cultivate and create amazing show experiences.

Outside of show choir, Amir is an Admissions Counselor & Travel Coordinator at Virginia Commonwealth University, while also working on his master’s degree in Decision Analytics. He works and mentors students entering college or going through the higher education journey to be successful in the things they drive for! With that, he also runs his own creative agency business called AHK Creatives, helping local businesses and groups thrive in the community through professional design. Amir is excited to push the limit of innovation on the overall show choir experience.
